Kiefer's '24' eyes big-screen debut

August 19, 2008 Edition 1

Kiefer Sutherland has confirmed that ideas for a movie based on his hit US TV show 24 are "on the table".

The actor - who plays action hero Jack Bauer in the show - says he is very excited about the idea of a feature film version of 24, but refused to confirm whether he will appear in it.

He told the US TV show Extra: "It's certainly on the table. We would really be thrilled to make it, but we're going to wait until the series has finished."

Filming of the seventh series of the show was delayed by the 2007/2008 Writers Guild of America strike, but a special two-hour TV film is due to air in the US in November, ahead of the launch of the new series early next year.

Kiefer said: "We've just finished the TV film. Now, we have to wait until November to show it. I think it's the best thing we've done to date."

The actor also revealed that his fear of mirrors caused problems while he was filming the new horror movie Mirrors, which is about a former policeman who is targeted by an evil force which uses the looking-glass for sinister purposes.

He said: "For me it was always innate. Not being overly enthralled with my own reflection. It was probably harder for me to watch it than to make it." - Bang Showbiz
