Lt. Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise), a young, aspring military lawyer is assigned to plead the cause of two Marines. The soldiers carried out a “code red” (disciplinary punishment) on a fellow Marine, killing him in the process. The two men however claim, that they have been ordered to do so, which their superiors deny. Together with his colleagues Jo (Demi Moore) and Sam (Kevin Pollack), Daniel tries to find out the truth.

After seeing the famous final scene several times, I finally watched the whole film. Though the movie starts off quite slow and a little confusing, it soon gains speed and catches the viewers attention. The single steps in the trial are strung together logically, so they are easy to follow. A lot of famous actors (the above, Jack Nicholson, Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland) and some iconic scenes (sample below…if you can handle it) along with a good script make this film very enjoyable.
TL;DR: Good courtroom drama about a lawyer, who wants to find out the truth about a shady murder case.
